Bar-Height Dining Set Restoration | Complete Reupholstery & Seat Rebuild

This five-piece modular dining set, consisting of two single seats, two double seats, and a corner section, arrived at our Calgary upholstery workshop in particularly rough condition. The original upholstery was peeling and badly worn, but the real problems were underneath. The seat support had deteriorated so severely that sitting down felt like falling straight through the furniture.

Once we began stripping the pieces, we uncovered loose fasteners, compromised sinuous spring supports, and an assortment of improvised padding materials, including what appeared to be repurposed baby bedding pads. These pieces needed far more than a simple recover.

Our team completely stripped the seating, resecured the sinuous springs, and rebuilt the seat support decks. We installed new high-density seating foam, which we use for its durability, lasting support, and ability to recover its shape after use.

With the structural work addressed, attention turned to the upholstery. During a fabric selection appointment at our Calgary showroom, we helped the clients explore their options and choose a combination that suited their vision for the finished set. They selected **Maxwell Pommel #839 – Stormy** for the seats and inside backs, complemented by **Charlotte Fabrics D4312 Orange**, a geometric accent fabric for the outside backs.

Our team then created and fitted new upholstery patterns throughout, ensuring a tailored finish across all five pieces.

The result is a transformation that goes well beyond appearance. What began as severely worn, uncomfortable seating is now a coordinated, supportive, and comfortable dining set, ready for many more years of use.
